MASTER SERIES CONTEST ENTRY FEE -Early Bird entry fee PRIOR to 1/15/20 Saturday only $300.00; Sunday only $300.00; Saturday AND Sunday $550.00 Regular entry fee AFTER 1/15/20 Saturday only $350.00; Sunday only $350.00; Saturday and Sunday $650.00.
BACKYARD (3 meats – chicken, ribs, pork) CONTEST ENTRY FEE – $175.00 Cutoff date 3/1/2020. First 24 teams registered AND fully paid are guaranteed entry. Additional teams may be added at discretion of the organizer. Turn in times will be the same as master series turn in times.
DEPOSIT OPTION (Master Series only) – Option to pay $50.00 deposit to hold team spot is available until 1/15/20. Entry fee balance MUST be paid in FULL by 3/1/20 to secure team spot.
ENTRY FEE PAYMENT – After the team entry form is submitted online, payment may be made via PayPal account or by credit or debit card. All transactions will be through a secure web site to protect your information. Team entry will not be complete until payment is received via online payment.
MASTER SERIES – Minimum of $8000.00 for KCBS payout on both contest days – In 2017, 2018 and 2019 the payout was raised to $11,000.00 by contest time
BACKYARD – Minimum of $2400.00 payout
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE TIMES – depending upon what day(s) you are competing, the following are the times to make note of:
Thursday – arrival after 12 noon for teams who have paid for Thursday campsite fee
Friday – arrival after 8 am for those teams cooking Saturday Master series, backyard or SCA/teams cooking SCA only must depart immediately after awards
Saturday – arrival after 8 am for those teams cooking Sunday Master series/teams not competing on Sunday must depart by 8 pm
Sunday – all teams must depart by 8 pm
MASTER SERIES – all sites are 50′ X 50′ size, 30 and 50 amp power, 110 volt power, water, cable and wi-fi at each site. Bethpage camp-resort charges for any night that the campsite is in use. Teams may choose to add Thursday night stay for additional fee.
BACKYARD – all sites are 25′ x 50′ size. 30 and 50 amp power, 110 volt power, water, cable and wi-fi at each site. Bethpage camp-resort charges for any night that the campsite is in use. Teams may choose to add Thursday night stay for additional fee.

VA GRANDS CHAMPIONSHIP – The BBQ Gives Back Contest is pleased to host within the KCBS contest, the VA Grands. The contest is made up of Grand Champions or Reserve Grand Champions from sponsoring VA Contests in 2019. Each of the VA contests have paid into this separate prize fund. We are pleased to have all VA State Championship Contests join together in supporting their respective grand champions.
MABA CUP FINALS – MABA will present awards to the top finishers from the teams in attendance that won their respective states MABA Cups. These 8 MABA Cup winners, or their runner ups, that attend our contest will be eligible for cash prizes paid out by MABA.

GIVING BACK to 2 organizations:
- The first is Team Thanksgiving food bank. On Saturday only, we are asking every team to turn in their leftover port (at 2 pm after the 4 meat turn ins are complete). We also ask for teams to donate one grocery bag of dry and/or canned goods if they are able. To see a list of requested items, please click on the GIVING BACK link above.
- The second is Operation BBQ Relief. Our contest will be making a monetary donation to OBR and anyone wishing to make a voluntary cash or check donation will be able to do so at the time of team check ins and at the cooks meeting.
THURSDAY night social event for teams, judges and reps to participate in a friendly discussion about bbq related topics. Light supper food will be served. FREE no charge for social – BYOB your desired bevarage.
FRIDAY night – SCA steak/chef choice combo cookoff – MUST register and pay at www.steakcookoffs.com
LODGING – on site campground cottages are available for reservations thru the organizer and there are 3 local hotels with BBQ rates. All reservations and payment will be the responsibility of individual team members. For more information, please use the LODGING link on the welcome page.
COMMUNICATION – organizer will confirm receipt of team entry form and payments. Emails will also be sent at the beginning of January, February and March with any important information to be shared. Facebook and website updates will be posted as needed.
